About Education Transfer

Education Transfer is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization, based in Delaware, whose goal is to help schools bring students together with professionals who represent the students' career interests.  To achieve its goal, it provides support services to schools organizing career events for groups of 100 or more students and provides schools with volunteers for other school-to-career activities.  Through these services, Education Transfer joins with schools to help students define career goals, learn how to achieve their goals, and meet people who can help them along the way.

Highlights

Education Transfer began as the dream of IBM Researcher Dave Bailey to help students bridge the gap between where they are and where they want to be.  After leading the PREMISE (Poughkeepsie Regional Effort for Minority Introduction to Science and Engineering) program at Poughkeepsie (NY) Middle School in 1988, Dave took a leave of absence from IBM to attend the Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia and learn how to make this dream a reality.  Education Transfer began as a community outreach program of AAMBAA (African American MBA Association), serving West Philadelphia schools, and was incorporated in 1991.  After graduating from Wharton in 1991 and returning to IBM for a year, Dave left to devote his full-time efforts to Education Transfer.  Since that time, Education Transfer has helped over 49,000 students meet professionals in businesses, sciences, and trades who helped them learn how to achieve their goals and dreams.
